My "Swell 2" Brutus painting represents that Buckeye Nation's work isn't done until we find a cure for Cancer! The shimmering sparkles on the water are stunning and represent Light. Even when we wade deep in the water of the unknown and we don't understand why things happen to us, we know Who does. The colors I chose make me smile. When hearing those words “You have Cancer”, for 42 weeks and a day My Heart Swelled With An Ocean Of Feeling in an unfamiliar place where no one comes prepared and everyone loses their breath for a moment before navigating all the hard questions and concerns. It is a feeling much like being underwater where you can't breathe. So for me, I felt my journey through Cancer was much like sailing right through the choppy waters of a storm, quickly realizing every Cancer is different, every approach is different, and every outcome is different.  Just like the ocean, no two waves are exactly the same and the waves are different every day. Some days the water is calm. Other days the water is choppy. Other times there are waves so big, they do take your breath away.
